Mr. Right
A father's greatest fear
when his daughter dates,
is the boy won't pass the test
when his measure daddy takes.
His clothes had better fit
hair be neatly trimmed,
no piercings hanging from his flesh
or whiskers on his chin.
Have a confident air
already own a car,
give old dad the impression
he will be going far.
Yes sir is what I want to hear
not yeah or I don't know,
he better never call me dude
or with my daughter he'll not go.
I'd like it if he had his masters
or maybe a PHD
with a big fat bank account
and same religion as her and me.
A father desires nothing less
than perfection for his girl,
alas we'll never find it
in all this wide wide world.
But I better learn to trust her soon
'cause she'll be bringing me one to see,
introduce him as Mister Right
saying; “This is the man for me.”
