Knowledge or Wisdom
There are many smug and full of facts
who have no way to know,
what it is that serves them well
or which way they should go.
Learned men in ivory towers
though clueless on the ground,
misreading signs and portents
of riches that abound.
Wealth and power the siren song
draws their lusting hearts,
but unable to complete them
without their missing parts.
Because the divinity of humankind
is merciful compassion,
which for the blind and greedy
has gone sadly out of fashion.
The value of mere knowledge
is bereft of useful worth,
for the lining of their pockets
binds them to this earth.
Their souls will writhe in agony
among treasure hard and cold,
when they could have sought out wisdom
whose value remains untold.
