Who we are and what we are worth
comes from deep inside,
there we see and know ourselves
better than the world outside.
The light of life is given to us
to do with as we will,
shining bright or burning out
moving or being still.
Choosing the role and costume
all the world will see,
defines the part we do adopt
and ultimately attempt to be.
Our audience is going to judge us here
to be idolized or spurned,
how much power we give those critics
is critical to be learned.
Because the light they shine on us
is unimportant in the end,
we are here to light the world
with the light we send.
